About My Prints and Other Good Info
Thank you for looking at my work. If you are interested in any prints know that I use a trusted giclee (pronounced zhee-clay) print company. The best way to describe my prints is that they are a pigment ink print on archival paper, more specifically a cotton rag or a stretched Lyve canvas. The ink and paper used meet and exceed the standards set forth by the Fine Arts Trade Guild for pH and lightfastness. I choose to use Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper, 308 gsm, which is one of the best papers on the market for giclee prints. It is 100% white cotton and acid- and lignin-free. It is known for show-casing vibrant colors, deep blacks, and contrasts. I leave a 1" border outside of the measured area on all photo rag prints. Each print is individually bagged and signed.
**Photographs will also be offered on Chrome Metallic paper.
For the stretched canvas I have chosen OBA-free Lyve canvas from Breathing Color. It is known for it's wide color gamut and is archival. It was awarded the exclusive Blue Wool certification for 100 years display life by the Fine Arts Trade Guild. You can choose between a 3/4" or 1.5" depth on the frame. The sides are mirrored so the canvas can be hung as is or can be framed to your liking. Each canvas print has a backing and is wired for hanging right out of the box. Your prints will last a very long time if taken care of. I want you to enjoy my work for many years.
Shipping Time
Shipping times are 2 to 3 weeks. When you order a print I first have it shipped to my studio. I then personally sign it before shipping it on to you. This adds a little more time to the shipping process but it also gives me an opportunity to check the print for any flaws before you receive it. Thank you for your patience.
Pricing for Prints and Originals
There was a time where I tried to price my work on hours to complete and difficulty but the emotional attachment I feel for the art can make that very difficult. Settling on a uniform, clear pricing table makes more sense for me and my patrons. I charge by the linear inch: $16 per linear inch for the original oil painting, $4.00 per linear inch for stretched canvas, and $2.50 per linear inch for prints.
For example, an 8x10" original ispriced at $288 (8+10=18x16=$288).
An 8x10 stretched canvas is priced at $72 (8+10=18x4=72).
An 8x10 photo rag print is priced at $45 (8+10=18x2.50=45).
At this time all prints are open editions. I do not have plans for any limited editions currently. If that changes I will announce that on my STUDIO NEWS page. I will sign my prints before sending them to you.
**Please note that I paint in oils and they take a long time to dry. I will not make an original oil available until it has a protective varnish coat on it and is fully ready to leave my studio. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
Want a Size not Listed on Photo Rag or Canvas?
I can probably do that. Send an email and I will see what can be done. I have inspected the work at the sizes that I offer now to make sure they fit the canvas with minimal cropping, they are crisp, and that the colors are as close to the originals as possible. If you have a particular size you just have to have let me know and I will try my best to make my work fit and look great for your enjoyment.
Commissions
I am not taking commissions currently. If I have time that opens up for any I will announce it on my STUDIO NEWS page.
